The Research Training Centre (RTC) is hosting its 2nd Annual Innovative Perspectives in Neuroscience Conference at the Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest. This conference will provide attendees (researchers, clinicians, staff, and trainees across all disciplines and all levels from undergraduate to post-doctoral fellow) with the opportunity to gain hands-on, practical, and interactive experience with not-for-profit and industry leaders as well as explore exciting careers in neuroscience. The itinerary for the day includes guest presentations, a networking lunch, and a case competition.
Computational Social Science is an emergent approach in which students apply the latest innovations in computer science and statistics to complex social questions. Working with very big data, on a scale that far exceeds earlier research, computational researchers are devising innovative formal, statistical, and computational models to make important contributions across the social sciences.
TreeHouse Experimental Learning is starting up a Summer STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) that will run for 10 weeks in the summer, beginning from June to August. They plan to create a program for students from ages 9 to 14 and promote applications of STEM through experimental learning.
