Consent Comes First

1443742414_conversationAs the fall semester gets underway we urge you to take two minutes and watch the video below. It explains what consent means and why it matters. The video also tells you where to find information about support services if you have been subjected to sexual violence.

Creating a culture of consent on campus to prevent sexual violence is everyone’s responsibility. We can do this by talking about healthy relationships and consent, being prepared to support survivors when they disclose and intervene in situations which could lead to sexual violence. At Ryerson consent comes first in all relationships – with your peers, staff and community members.
