1450740170_InfoThis is a friendly reminder that your program advising team (Sarah Carmichael and Shadi Sibani) will not be available by telephone or email from the end of Wednesday, December 23rd to Wednesday, January 6th when the University is officially closed for the winter break.  If you have questions about your Fall term grades or Winter 2016 courses, they will be pleased to assist you when the University re-opens on Thursday, January 7th.  Here are some important dates and reminders.

Fall term grades and academic standings

These will be posted to RAMSS at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 27th. For detailed information about Academic Standings, refer to the Ryerson Student Guide.   Please be aware that students who receive a Probationary academic standing must attend a Faculty of Arts Probationary Workshop before meeting with their program advisor to discuss and sign a Probationary Contract, which outlines a specific plan for studies and academic supports. For detailed information about a Probationary academic standing and for the workshop dates and times, visit this page.

Enrolment Appointments

Your enrollment appointment date determines when you will FIRST be able to make changes to your Winter 2016 schedule. You will then be able to make changes on RAMSS from that appointment date until Friday, January 29, 2016 (last day to add a course for the Winter 2016 term). Changes or additions to your course selections are subject to available space and applicable prerequisites. See important dates here.

Guidelines on adding, dropping, and swapping courses on RAMSS

For extra help with adding, dropping, and swapping courses, please check out these step-by-step guidelines.

Guidelines on using your advisement report

To use your advisement report on RAMSS, on the front page under “Academic Requirements” you’ll see a pulldown menu. Select “Academic Requirements” and then “Go to advisement report.” When you get to the report, expand all the boxes and RAMSS will tell you if the courses you are taking apply to your degree. If you have anything in the “Non-applicable” box, then you are taking the wrong class or have too many classes chosen.  Here are some guidelines for checking your report from the Ryerson website.

Start of Winter 2016 term

Classes commence for full- and part-time undergraduate programs and for the Chang School on Friday, January 15, 2016.
