Your Enrolment Appointments for making changes to your Winter 2016 term schedule is soon approaching – please carefully read through all the information contained in this post.
View Your Winter 2016 Timetable
If you did your Course Intentions successfully in March, May, August, and/or September this year, you will be able to view your Winter 2016 timetable starting November 24th via RAMSS.
Your Course Intentions will be dropped first, then reloaded to display your actually Course Enrollments with dates/times/locations, etc. Don’t panic! Just be patient since there is a lag time and wait for your courses to be loaded again with your schedule.
Your enrollment appointment date determines when you will FIRST be able to make changes to your schedule. You will then be able to make changes on RAMSS from that appointment date through until January 29th, 2016 (last day to add a course to your Winter term). Changes or additions to your course selections are subject to available space and applicable prerequisites.

All enrolment appointments begin at 8:00 am.
If you view your timetable and you are happy with your schedule, then you do not need to worry about the December Enrollment Appointments since you do not need to make any changes. That is the bonus of doing your course intentions!
Course Conflicts / Dropped Courses
If you find that some of your courses are not listed in your timetable, this could be due to a several reasons:
This issue is most common. The time conflict means that 2 or more courses that you pre-registered for are taking place at the same time. RAMSS has automatically dropped one of these courses. If the course that is dropped is the one you want to keep or you decide to just select an alternative course, then during your Enrollment Appointment time, make sure that you SWAP courses as opposed to Dropping then Adding a course to avoid potential errors or losing one of your courses. Here are instructions on how to SWAP a course.
Course Is Oversubscribed
This means that more students pre-registered than there are sections of the course. RAMSS or the teaching department will likely ‘bump’ students out of the course/section who are taking the course as an elective since it not a requirement for their program degree. In this case, you will need to select an alternative course from the same Table or try your luck in the next term or academic year.
Required PSY Courses Are Not Listed
RAMSS will automatically enroll FIRST YEAR STUDENTS ONLY into REQUIRED courses. That means that all other students in 2nd year, 3rd year, and 4th year (and final year) students, need to enroll themselves into required courses – it is not automatically done for you. This gives you more flexibility with your schedule. So if you are not in first year, and you don’t see your required courses in your schedule, you will need to enroll yourself into the course(s) during your enrollment appointment. IF you cannot get into a REQUIRED PSY course, email me and I will try to assist in getting you into the required course or provide you with other options in order to progress smoothly through your academic years.
Hold On Your Account
You may have a hold on your account which may be due to unreturned library books, unpaid tuition fees, etc. If you do not resolve the hold on your account, your courses will not be loaded and you will not have a timetable. Take care of the issue immediately!
Any students who have inadvertently enrolled in a seminar course for Winter, 2016 ‘early’, which would typically mean they will not have completed at least 35 credits by December, 2015, will be removed from these courses. If you are a student who needs a seminar in Winter 2016 in order to graduate, please contact us right away to let us know, so that we can add you to the wait lists.
