A message from Sammy Tangir, on behalf of Divest Ryerson | Last year climate justice organizations helped coordinate the People’s Climate March. That mass mobilization drew out over 400,000 people calling for climate action and climate justice to New York City’s streets.
We hope to repeat a similar high point on a Canadian scale in the year of a federal election. We want an economy where workers win, communities have more democratic control, and those most impacted and impoverished are the first in line to benefit. If we use this opportunity to build partnerships with each other, we can be successful in enacting change and demanding justice from those in power. Together, WE are powerful.
How can you get involved? You can get involved by joining the Youth Hub! This means the committee of youth connecting to build a powerful bloc at the March. We will be bringing organizations that work with young people together to show power and form lasting relationships for our future justice-based organizing.
