1430781302_app_type_camping_512px_GREYA message from Dr. Ashley Morgan: We are interested in having one or two research volunteers join our team to assist with our research related to Camp Towhee taking place this summer. This opportunity would ideally be suited to upper-year undergraduate students who are interested in gaining research experience in preparation for graduate studies.

The Integra Program (Child Development Institute) provides family-centred, evidence-informed direct clinical services to children and youth ages 8 to 18 with diagnosed learning disabilities and mental health issues in Toronto. Our summer residential therapy program, Camp Towhee, serves children ages 10 to 18 from across the province. For more information, please see Camp Towhee’s website: http://www.camptowhee.ca/

The time commitment will be approximately one day per week at Integra (located at Yonge and Davisville) with some potential travel to Camp Towhee (located in Haliburton) with the rest of the research team (Note: No car necessary).

Responsibilities will include data collection with parents and children, data entry, data management (using Excel and SPSS), running statistical analyses (volunteers will be well-supported with this), and transcribing and analyzing qualitative interviews. The research project is set to begin at the beginning of June and run until October.

Interested students should send their CVs and a brief description explaining their interest in this opportunity to Dr. Ashley Morgan (amorgan@childdevelop.ca) as soon as possible. Questions can also be directed to amorgan@childdevelop.ca.
