UPDATE (April 21, 2015): There are still a few spots left! Lunch will be provided on both days. As the winter semester comes to an end, are you graduating and looking for a postgraduate entry level position? Are you wondering how to get started on your job search before you graduate next year? As a Faculty of Arts major, join me to develop concrete job search strategies you will practice and put into action.
This is a 2 day intensive job search boot camp designed for 3rd and 4th year+ Faculty of Arts students. You will put learning into practice, from the beginning to the end stages of the job search process. We will deconstruct the ‘traditional’ approach to job search by moving beyond online applications and basic networking to determine best practices in finding opportunities in the hidden job market.
- Identifying and using a live job posting as a tool in your job search process
- A savvy approach to networking and informational interviewing
- Skill development on the job
- Building your online and professional portfolio (LinkedIn and resume/cover letter component)
